Obituary for Mark Louis Miller

Mark Louis Miller
Mark L. Miller
July 15, 1967 – September 15, 2016

On September 15, 2016 we lost a husband, father, son, friend and co-worker to cancer at the young age of 49. Mark was born on July 15th 1967 in Butte, Montana, the oldest of two to Charlie and Jenetta Miller. He attended local schools, graduating from Butte High School in 1985. While at Butte High Mark participated in football and wrestling and was a member of the 1985 Butte High State Championship Wrestling team under Coach Jim Street. He would later be inducted into the Butte Sports Hall of Fame in 2013. Mark was also a member of the Honor Society during his time at BHS.
After graduating from Butte High, Mark received a scholarship to play football at Montana Tech where he enrolled in the fall of 1985 in the Engineering Program. Mark graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in 1990. On September 8th 1990 at St. Ann’s church in Butte, Mark married the love of his life and high school sweetheart Cheryl Mufich with whom he would spend the next 26 years with.
In 1991 Mark and Cheryl moved to the Seattle area where Mark began his career as an Electrical Engineer with RH2 Engineering. Mark’s time with RH2 was marked with great success as a trusted partner by clients and extremely reliable and forward thinking co-worker, mentor and engineer who was instrumental in the success and growth of the business. In 1995 Mark took an opportunity to relocate to the Wenatchee Valley where he would spend the rest of his career with RH2.
In 1994 Mark and Cheryl welcomed into the world a daughter Paighton, followed by sons Grady in 1997 and Hudson in 2003. To Mark his family was his world, he rarely missed an opportunity to be involved in the activities his children were participating in. Mark served as the President of the Wenatchee Barracuda Swim Program, sat on the Board of Directors of the Wenatchee Youth Baseball League and at any given time was coaching baseball, basketball, soccer, football or softball. When Mark wasn’t coaching he could be found cheering from the stands, rarely missing a game, meet or tournament.
Mark is survived by his wife Cheryl, daughter Paighton, sons Grady and Hudson, parents Charlie and Jenetta Miller, brother Todd Miller, grandfather Louie Chatriand, mother and father in law Carol and AJ Mufich, sister in law Toni D’Arcy, sister and brother in law Sandy and Clayton Reynolds, and sister in law Kari Glasoe. Mark also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins and a nephew.
The family would like to thank all the friends and family who offered support through this difficult time, especially Mike and Julie McKay, Nick and Lesah Harris, Dr. Toby Long and countless others.
Mark was a fighter from the first diagnosis right up until the end, staying as strong as he could for his family and friends. Mark cherished the time he had, making it a priority to live each day to its absolute fullest. His time with Cheryl and their children through the last two years was spent with a lot of laughter, a lot of smiles and most importantly an endless amount of love as only Mark could provide.
Services will be held Thursday September 22, 2:00 pm at Holy Apostles Church in East Wenatchee, followed by a reception at the Highlander Golf Course, one of Mark’s favorite places to play golf.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made if you choose to a couple things near and dear to Mark’s heart. Education for Mark’s children was very important to him, therefore an Education fund has been set up Miller Children Education Fund at Key Bank Wenatchee, 102 S Wenatchee Ave, Wenatchee, WA 98801 or Wenatchee Panther High School Baseball in honor of Mark Miller, WHS Athletics, 1101 Millerdale, Wenatchee, WA 98801.
