Obituary for Ronald Jack "Jack" Brantner
Ronald “Jack” Brantner was born on July 6, 1933, in North Salem, MO, to Elvis
Claud Christy and Glendora Brantner. Jack passed at home with family loving
him on October 1, 2016.
Jack spent his early years with brother, Roger, and their dad following jobs.
In between, they enjoyed stays with Grandma and Grandpa Lay. The family
settled in Omak, WA, and later, in the Methow Valley. Sports opened many doors
of fun and opportunity for Jack, earning him scholarships and acclimates for
his athletic ability.
In Twisp, Jack met and later married his first love, Sharon “Kay” Simmons.
They raised three sons and settled in Wenatchee, where Jack taught chemistry,
science, and was tennis and basketball coach. He is remembered by many as
their favorite teacher and mentor. After retirement, he worked for ESD and at
Rocky Reach Dam, creating educational tours and summer science camps for kids.
When they both retired, Jack and Kay traveled and entertained their numerous
friends.
After Kay’s passing in 2003, Jack met Kate. He felt so fortunate to have found
love a second time. They spent winters in Yuma, AZ, And enjoyed entertaining
friends and travel. Jack will always be remembered for his kindness, his
friendship and his sense of learning and adventure; his deep love of family
and great communication skills.
Jack is survived by his wife, Kate; sons: Mark, Matthew, Jeffery (Nyal)
Brantner; daughter, Mary Sexton; grandchildren: Ambria ( T.J.) Boss, Torrey,
Aryssa Brantner. Justin and Amanda Malloy (Freddy); great-grandchildren: Ethan
and Nya; brother, Roger ( Carolle) Brantner and their three daughters, Kari,
Kristy, and Kelli.
A special thank you to Dr. Julie Smith and our wonderful Hospice nurses. If
you wish, remember Jack by supporting Cancer Care of N.C.W., 1708 Castlerock,
Wenatchee, WA, 98801.
There will be a Graveside Memorial at Beaver Creek Cemetery, Twisp, WA, at
11:00 a.m., October 22, 2016. A luncheon will follow at the Senior Center in
Twisp at 12:30 p.m. Arrangements assisted by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley,
East Wenatchee, WA.
