Gerene Melodine Brown died November 1, 2016, at the age of 84. She was born
March 25, 1932, to Robert and Vona Hodge in Gid, AR. She married Emmit Sumner

retired.

After Emmit’s death in 2003, she re-married John O. Brown on November 4, 2004.
Gerene returned to East Wenatchee, WA, in 2015 until present to be close to
her family, friends, and grandkids. She also had a very special companion, her
little buddy, Baxter (her Shih Tzu).

Gerene was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Vona Hodge; sister,
Bonnie Wolford; brother, Burnice Hodge; as well as both spouses, Emmit Sumner
and John Brown. She is survived by daughter, Phyllis Britt (Larry); and son,
Randy Sumner; grandchildren: Jeremy Shull, Alison Easley (Cord), and Sean
Shull (Brittney); great-grandchildren: Trea Thomas, Logan and Ethan Easley,
