Obituary for Dorothy M. Warford

Dorothy M. Warford
Our beloved Mama and Grandma went to be with her heavenly Father on July 2, 2017 at the age of 86, with her oldest son and daughter by her side. Mama was born Dorothy Mae White on September 14, 1930, to Ted White and Cordia Tatum-White in Oxford, Izard County, AR. In 1937, she came to Wenatchee, WA, with her mother, Cordia, and stepfather, Whit Smith. She worked in the fruit industry, picking fruit and packing in the fruit sheds. On October 19, 1957, she married Norman J. Warford. Together, they had three sons and one daughter. After their divorce, she was a stay at home mom. In 1980, she began working as a receptionist for the Salvation Army. Later, she worked at the Dairy Queen on the east side and then sold Avon for several years, before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ted White; mother, Cordia Harmon; sister, Lena Faye White; and son, Kevin Warford. She is survived by her son, Norman Warford (Brenda); son, Mike Warford; and daughter, Kathleen Warford; four grandchildren: Jennifer Roarke (Alex), Andrew Moore, Alex Ascencio, and Jesse Ascencio; five great-grandchildren: Elizix Moore, Kayleigh and Jase Roarke, Alexander and Amzie Mae Ascencio; four brothers: Jim Smith (Margie), Gerry Smith (Vivian), all of California, Mike Smith of Florida, Ted White, Jr. (Cindy) of West Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, make a donation in her name to Alzheimer’s Research. Arrangements are by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley.

“We will always love you Mama.”
