Obituary for Marilyn Magee

Marilyn Magee
On October 19, 2017, Marilyn (Olsen) Magee, 88, was called to join her husband, Keith Magee, who passed away a year ago at 97.
Marilyn was born in Fountain Green, Utah, on November 10, 1928. After high school graduation, she continued on to receive a degree from Utah State University in Elementary Education. Her first teaching assignment took her to the Sevier School District in Richfield, Utah, followed by a move to Portland, Oregon, where she taught for the Portland Metropolitan School District.
It was in Portland that she met her husband to be, Keith Magee. They were married May 22, 1953. They lived and worked in Portland until 1966 when they moved to Wenatchee.
Marilyn became employed with the Eastmont School District and taught at Grant and Kenroy Elementary Schools for 24 years. After retiring in 1990, she and Keith enjoyed their winters in their home in Sun City West, Arizona, and their summers at their cabin on the Entiat River.
Marilyn and Keith were devoted to each other for 63 years. Wherever you found one you would find the other. In Marilyn's later years, she was diagnosed with a form of dementia but was able to stay at home with Keith until he passed away. She moved into Columbia Heights Assisted Living and was surrounded by caring professionals that made her feel at home.
She always enjoyed company but preferred to watch and listen rather than verbalize. Marilyn's passing was quiet and peaceful. Marilyn is survived by their son, Ron Magee of Delta Junction, Alaska; her two brothers, Homer J. Olsen of Gig Harbor, WA; and Steven T. Olsen of San Francisco, CA and her sister, Winifred Dahl of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She has five grandchildren, Kevin (Torri) Magee of Tacoma, WA; Kellee (Nick) Prchal of Spokane, WA; Traci (Clyde) Bollman of Springfield, OR; Analisa Roberts of Laguna Niguel, CA. and Michael Marino. She has numerous great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Keith, two sons, Joey and David Magee, daughter Cheri Holland, and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Smith.
There will be a public Graveside Service on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. Kevin Magee and Steven Olsen will be officiating. If desired, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
