The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Claryda Howell can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Claryda was a special individual. She expected and demanded the best and that is why she picked you.
Claryda taught me so much in my first year of teaching when we shared a tiny office at Sterling. Her work with students in freshmen English was reported to be the basis for many to be successful in making scholarship application. Many 15 year olds learned to dance in her P.E. classes . Claryda took her work seriously. It was a huge part of her life and, many were sucessful due to her efforts.
